There are many gorgeous types of bikinis one can see on any beach on any given day. Bikini wear known to have got their name from an island used for test explosions burst on the scene and became popular in no time. The types of bikinis are on the basis of how the middle is joined and what constitutes the back of the bikini. The various types include thick halter, stringed halter or double joined halter. The bikinis are also classified as thick middle, clipped middle, joined or stringed middle bikinis. Lastly they can be string or joined back bikinis as well. Each of these is used in various permutations to get the right look and make woman on the beach turn on the heat even while they aim to get some sun on their back.
Bikinis are usually flashier in their colors representing the beach mood compared to the more somber lingerie for women. Most of the bikinis are in bright colors like orange, green, blue and red or in patterns such as tropical palms, stripes and polka dots, representing a bright holiday mood. The connected tops are sometimes embellished with a ring for a bit more glitz and are modified versions of the conventional adjustable triangle tops. Similarly the bottoms too can be a bit skimpy, e.g. the True Brazilian style bikinis with lesser coverage than the usual American version.
One of the more popular bikinis these days is the Tonga Thong Bikini with a low waistband and low scooped bikini bottom. Inspired from lacy accents in European lingerie these bikinis are soft, yet perfect for the curvy figure on the beach. The G-string bikinis are one of the most famous bikinis because of their ultra low coverage. They are perfect for getting a uniform tan all over the body. These bikini tops are usually double stringed which means they can be tied at the back and around the neck to keep the tops from falling off. The glamorous bikini wear have evolved with multiple influences from many countries but the greatest influence has been the curve-revealing bikinis of Latin American countries commonly seen on the beaches of Brazil and Argentina.
Bikinis at one point were also flashier with leopard and snake skin patterns but the growing awareness for wild life conservation and the save the wild campaigns have stolen the glitz and glamour of such bikinis. Polka dotted bikinis on brown, black or red background are still the most commonly worn bikinis because unlike the plain colors they are less drab and flashier. These bikinis are also referred to as two-piece consisting of an adjustable or connected top and the G-string, Tonga thong or conventional bikini bottom which can be tied at either ends or just one end. There is also a one piece bikini suit where the upper top is connected to the lower bottom, through the torso and the back leaving sides open. The one side variety is more often suited for swimming rather than tanning in the sun.
